County mailing aims to verify voter records

The Pima County Recorder's Office is mailing out notification cards to all 460,000 registered voters here to make sure they all still live where their voter registration card says.
Sending out the cards is the first step in purging the names of people who may have moved, or died, from the voter rolls.
If you get a notification card addressed to someone who doesn't live at your address, Recorder F. Ann Rodriguez asks that you return it through the post office. If there is a known forwarding address, she asks that you include it on the returned card.
The recorder will then send a second notice to the address, and if it, too, is returned, the name will be removed from the voter rolls.
Cards are being sent out at the rate of 50,000 a day.
If you don't get one by March 31 and you believe you're registered to vote, contact the voter registration office at 740-4330.
New voter registration information must be completed by those who have moved or have changed their names since their last registration.
