Mauricio Farah, a national inspector for Mexico's National Human Rights Commission, will speak on the topic of migration Friday at the University of Arizona.
His visit comes less than a month after the commission canceled an agreement with Tucson's Humane Borders to publish thousands of maps showing highways, rescue beacons and water tanks in the Arizona desert. The maps, which sparked U.S. criticism, were to be distributed in Mexico.
Farah's scheduled talk is titled, "Migration, Shared Responsibility." It will take place from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. in Room A104 at the University Services Annex, 222 W. Sixth St.
