Less than 60 years after the Wright brothers' historic flight, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration was sending humans into space aboard rockets.
Several people connected to the U.S. space program have at one time or another called Tucson home. |

People can embark on their own space missions at the Challenger Learning Center of the Southwest, housed at the Pima Air & Space Museum, 6000 E. Valencia Road.
