A moon shot reminiscent of 'E.T.'

The rising of the full moon, silhouetting a cholla cactus and recalling an indelible image from the movie "E.T.," created a colorful optical illusion Wednesday night. The illusion made the moon loom dominantly in the June sky, where it appeared to be larger near the horizon. This photograph was taken at Kennedy Lake on the city's Southwest Side.
