Late mortgage payments rise in Tucson

Mortgage delinquencies are rising in the Tucson metro area, but are below the U.S. average and Phoenix's rate, according to data from credit agency Transunion.
About 2.4 percent of mortgages were at least 60 days past due in Tucson in the fourth quarter of last year, up from 1.4 percent in the fourth quarter of 2006.
Delinquencies across the country averaged about 3 percent in the four quarter of last year, according to the report. In Phoenix, the delinquency rate was about 3.3 percent.
