GM named at El Conquistador
Lynn Ericksen was named general manager at Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort. Ericksen has been leading hotels nationwide for more than 21 years as a general manager and was most recently employed at the Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa. He is currently on the board of the Arizona Hotel & Lodging Association.
New VP at lender
Kevin M. Henry has been hired as vice president and senior relationship manager, responsible for commercial lending, at Northern Trust's Catalina Foothills office. Previously, Henry spent nine years at West Coast Bank in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
Attorney joins Rusing & Lopez
Jeffrey G. Baxter has joined the law firm of Rusing & Lopez PLLC. His practice will be focused in business and real estate transactions, in addition to zoning and land-use law.
Leyba to work at Alliance Bank
Alliance Bank of Arizona announced that Edward Leyba has joined its Williams Centre office as vice president and senior loan officer.
He brings more than 23 years of Tucson banking experience, including branch management, SBA lending, retail and commercial banking. Leyba currently serves on the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's business education committee.
Writer to head up regional group
Mark Flint, a local freelance writer and editor, was elected director of the International Association of Business Communicators' Pacific Plains Region, which includes more than 22 chapters in 14 states. Flint is a founding board member and senior advocate of the Sonoran Desert Mountain Bicyclists.
Citi announces promotion, hiring
Carlos Borreli has been promoted to lead PCS analyst at Citi's local call center. He will lead the installation, maintenance and support of all standard business hardware and software, as well as provide asset management, inventory and on-call technical support at the site.
Jena Wold was hired at Citi as the new assistant vice president of human resources. For the past five years, she has served as human resources manager at Crosstown Traders Inc.
Ed foundation gets new director
Robert Padilla has been named executive director of Tucson's Educational Enrichment Foundation, replacing Sally Trattner who retired earlier this year. He previously served as the executive director of the Chicanos Por La Causa Inc. Tucson Foundation.
PCC names exec
Diane Groover was appointed assistant vice chancellor for finance of Pima Community College. Her past experience includes working as a financial services management consultant at Heinfeld, Meech & Co., and as finance manager at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona.
Solar Store COO
Andrew Gordon has joined The Solar Store as chief operating officer. In addition to his new duties as COO, he will oversee the store's expansion into Phoenix.
KUAT promotion
John Kelley has been promoted to radio and television station manager at KUAT Communications Group.
He is now responsible for the management of classical KUAT-FM, news station KUAZ-AM/FM and PBS station KUAT/Channel 6.
Kelley has been with KUAT since Nov. 2002.
Exec joins panel
Thomas Dunn has been recently appointed by the Marana Town Council to the Business and Economic Development Commission for a four-year term. Dunn is a partner with The Mortgage Planners LLC.
Ariz. Stagecoach has new president
Paul Hawkins was named president and general manager of Arizona Stagecoach. He brings more than 20 years of experience managing companies in the local market, focusing primarily on retail and call center management/operations.
