Anshei director brings experience
Alan R. Pearlman was appointed executive director of Congregation Anshei Israel. He previously served as executive director for seven years at Temple B'nai Jeshurun in Des Moines, Iowa. Pearlman has 20 years of experience in managing nonprofit agencies, including nursing and rehabilitation centers and long-term care services to the elderly and disabled.
Airport's new IT chief a PCC grad
Tim Hoban was promoted to director of information technology and telecommunications for Tucson Airport Authority. He is a native of Scottsbluff, Neb., and in 1982 moved to Tucson, where he received an associates degree in digital electronics from Pima Community College. Before joining TAA in 1996 he worked for Allied Signal Aerospace and Hughes Aircraft Co.
Metro promotes from within
Amy Auman was appointed general manager of the Old Pueblo Grille in the Foothills Mall. She has worked for Metro Restaurants since 1997 and began her career as a server at Metropolitan Grill before becoming assistant manager and then taking on marketing and management roles at several Metro restaurants.
Also at Old Pueblo Grille, Metro Restaurants Corp. has appointed Mel Ford as executive chef. He has nearly 20 years of experience in culinary arts and restaurant management, six of which he worked for Metro Restaurants.
Care center's director honored
Melvin Hector, medical director at La Cañada Care Center, was named the 2005 medical director of the year for Life Care Centers of America's Southwest division.
Agent earns top volunteer award
The Allstate Foundation has recognized Dana Lim with the Agency Hands in the Community award for her commitment to volunteering in the community. With the award comes a $500 grant from the Allstate Foundation to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, where Lim has volunteered. She has been an Allstate exclusive agent since 1986.
Insurance agent a sales champion
Georgiana Plank qualified as a "championship" agent by Farmers Insurance Group for her overall performance for growth and customer service. She was recognized for achieving a high sales volume for auto, home, life and business policies, while maintaining high client retention and profitability.
Hilton directors share recognition
At Hilton El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort, Devon Sloan, director of events, and Brandy White, director of catering, were both recognized as directors of the year by Hilton Hotels Corp. The award is given to directors who achieve 100 percent or greater of their annual team revenue goal.
Realty company names broker
Pat Leahy was named an associate broker for Realty Executives Southern Arizona.
Broker honored for achievement
At the Help-U-Sell convention in Las Vegas, Leslie A. Valencia was given the outstanding achievement award; she was the only Help-U-Sell agent to receive the award nationally. She was also awarded for being No. 9 for sales out of more than 4,000 agents in the country. Valencia has been in real estate for nearly four years and recently became a licensed broker.
