Planning Center CEO named to housing panel
Michael J. Grassinger, principal and CEO of The Planning Center, was appointed to the Metropolitan Housing Commission. He will represent the developer/builder/designer category for a four-year term. Grassinger has more than 28 years of experience working in both public and private planning.
Moore heads division of Richmond American
Richmond American Homes of Arizona Inc. announced that Steve Moore was promoted to executive vice president of the company's Tucson division. He has more that 25 years of experience in residential construction, construction management and real estate sales. Moore joined Richmond American four years ago as the vice president of construction after working for Pulte Homes in construction management.
NAACP and LULAC honor Cox official
Anne Doris, vice president and system manager of Cox Communications Southern Arizona, was honored by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the League of United Latin American Citizens with the Rosa Parks Living History Makers Award in the business category. The award is given in six categories to individuals and organizations that distinguish themselves in the community.
Public health college adds research scholar
Mercedes Gameros has joined the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health as the college's first visiting research scholar representing the Training, Internships, Exchanges and Scholarships funded by the United States Agency for International Development.
UA public health college promotes professors
Denise J. Roe was promoted to senior associate dean at the UA Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. Roe is also a professor in the epidemiology and biostatistics division.
Also at the college, Duane Sherrill, professor in the epidemiology and biostatistics division, was appointed associate dean of research. He is also the director of the Arizona Clinical Research Training Program, and the Biometry core of the General Clinical Research Center.
Lawyer representative gets 9th Circuit post
Susan G. Boswell, a partner in Quarles & Brady Streich Lang LLP's Bankruptcy Law Group and the Tucson office managing partner, was selected as a lawyer representative to the U.S. Court for the Ninth Circuit by the District of Arizona delegation. She has 25 years of experience managing a national bankruptcy and business reorganization practice, and was selected to serve a three-year term to the Ninth Circuit.
Airport Authority names Gruentzel CFO
Richard J. Gruentzel was named vice president administration and finance/chief financial officer for the Tucson Airport Authority. He joined the TAA Finance Department as controller in 2004, and was named senior director of finance in 2005. Gruentzel has more than 20 years' experience in both public accounting and private industry.
