MARANA
1 - Property valued at more than $4,000 was reported stolen from a recreational trailer stored at Continental Ranch Self Storage, 5650 W. Coca Cola Place, at 9:20 a.m. July 5. A man told police the deadbolt on the door was unlocked and there were no signs of forced entry. A television set, a stereo system, two jackets and 50 compact discs were taken.
2 - A 2001 Yamaha 350 Warrior Quad valued at $10,000 was reported stolen at 6:03 a.m. July 4 from a driveway in the 12000 block of West Swanson Street. A neighbor told police he heard a commotion at 3:15 a.m. and saw someone walking down the street. A short time later, he heard what sounded like a garbage can being rolled down the street and saw someone behind the bushes in front of his house. One of the owners found and followed the tracks into a nearby riverbed and found the Quad. The lock on the rear wheels had been cut and the ignition was damaged.
3 - A radio and a stereo system valued at $3,500 were reported stolen from a truck at 12:14 p.m. July 2 at Costco, 3901 W. Costco Drive. The owner told police he found the passenger-side door lock damaged and the dashboard completely taken apart. The ignition switch also was broken. The thief left behind a screwdriver and locking pliers.
4 - Tools and a digital battery tester valued at $2,000 were reported stolen at Batteries Plus, 3662 W. Ina Road, at 9:59 a.m. July 2. The manager told police the tools and tester were inadvertently left outside the store between 6 p.m. July 1 and 8 a.m. July 2.
PIMA COUNTY
5 - Four plastic bags of marijuana were found in a car abandoned near North Shannon Road and West Pepper Drive at 4:36 p.m. July 6. Officials said deputies had been following the driver, and he walked away from the car and disappeared into the neighborhood before deputies could question him. A scale, 11 syringes, an altered business check, several sheets of blank check-printing paper, a laptop computer, a black attaché case, scissors and two jeweler's screwdrivers were also found in the car. The owner of the car told police she left it at a friend's house at 8 a.m. because the friend asked to borrow it.
6 - A man watering plants at a vacationing neighbor's house in the 9200 block of North Kanawha Street noticed an unlocked sliding glass door and called the Sheriff's Department at 6:04 a.m. July 6. He told deputies the rear screen door had been removed and was blocking the water faucet. It was not known if anything was taken from the house.
7 - Two damaged tires were reported at 8:11 a.m. July 1 at a house in the 3000 block of West Coriander Drive. The owner told deputies someone slashed the two rear tires on his car.
8 - A 1997 Lincoln Town Car was reported stolen at 6:50 a.m. June 30 from a garage in the 3200 block of West Westfal Drive. The owner said he found the garage door open and the car gone. The car was later found in front of a nearby house.
9 - Personal property was reported stolen at 5:39 p.m. June 29 at Club Carmel apartments, 1970 W. Magee Road. The owner told police three videocassette recorders, several DVDs, several rifles and two cellular phones were taken. The front door had been forced open.
ORO VALLEY
10 - A 19-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant at 10:16 a.m. July 12 after he was pulled over by police for following too closely at North Oracle and West Ina roads. According to the report, the officer saw marijuana debris on the center console and front passenger seat. The man gave the officer a plastic box containing marijuana seeds and stems. He was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and booked into Pima County jail.
11 - An Oro Valley Parks and Recreation Department employee called police at 9:45 a.m. July 12 to report vandalism at Cañada del Oro Riverfront Park, 551 W. Lambert Lane. He said someone removed a metal urinal divider in the men's restroom next to the basketball court. He said the divider was found in one of the soccer fields.
12 - A fraudulent prescription for a narcotic painkiller brought to Osco, 10390 N. La Cañada Drive, was reported to police at 9:27 a.m. July 12. The pharmacist said a man dropped the prescription off on July 9 at 5:30 p.m. He said when the man came back at 7 p.m., he asked him for identification. He told police the man left and didn't return.
13 - Four loose horses were reported to police at 2:37 p.m. July 10 in the 2300 block of West Tangerine Road. A man told police the horses belonged to his neighbors who weren't home. Police rounded up the horses and got them back into the corrals. A note was left for the owners.
14 - A brush fire in Cañada del Oro Wash at North La Cañada Drive was reported to police at 1:20 a.m. July 7. According to the report, the fire covered 15 square feet and was the fifth fire set in the same area since June 23. Rural/Metro Fire Department put the fire out.
