A wildfire is burning in the Baboquivari Mountains southwest of Tucson.
The Solano Fire started Friday about seven miles south of Kitt Peak and was estimated yesterday afternoon at 200 acres, said Lorraine Buck, a spokeswoman for the Bureau of Land Management.
Cooler weather overnight and reduced winds today were expected to aid firefighters' efforts, Buck said.
The fire started on Tohono O'odham land, but it is mostly burning on BLM land near the Baboquivari Wilderness Area.
Authorities from the BLM, Tohono O'odham Nation and State Forestry Division are coordinating the firefighting efforts.
The fire is in steep and rugged terrain, and winds in the area were gusting Friday to 35 mph, said Cliff Pearlberg, a spokesman with the Arizona State Forester's Office.
Three heavy air tankers, four single-engine air tankers and two helicopters are assigned to the fire, along with five 20-person firefighter crews.
