Sammie Daly did not believe in vampires or the supernatural. "If you believed in it, it would be too frightening," she said. But she was totally fascinated with the bloodthirsty count and the entire horror film genre. On Oct. 10, 1983, Daly modeled her vampire attire at a local cemetery. She was a member in good standing in the Count Dracula Society, an organization for the serious student of horror films and Gothic literature. "Dracula is within everyone," Daly said. "There are portions of our personality that demand youth and are greedy."
