● Dodgers 7, Rockies 2: In Denver, James Loney drove in three runs as surging Los Angeles beat the Rockies on Friday night. Loney, Manny Ramirez, Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier and Angel Berroa had two hits each for the Dodgers.
● Giants 5, Padres 2: In San Diego, Jake Peavy had a rare poor start at home, and San Francisco took advantage, getting a go-ahead home run from rookie Travis Ishikawa.
● Pirates 10, Cardinals 2: In Pittsburgh, Nate McLouth homered and had a career-high five RBIs to lead the Pirates over St. Louis.
● Marlins 2, Nationals 1: In Miami, Scott Olsen got his first win in 10 starts to lead Florida.
● Cubs at Astros, ppd.: In Houston, the game was postponed because of Hurricane Ike. The teams were to have started a three-game series Friday night. No makeup dates have been set.
● Brewers at Phillies, ppd.: In Philadelphia, the key matchup between NL wild card hopefuls was postponed because of rain. It will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader on Sunday.
