State Bar honors Hursh
Jeffrey A. Hursh, an attorney in the Tucson office of Snell & Wilmer LLP, was honored as member of the year by the State Bar of Arizona.
Hursh, whose legal practice is concentrated in the areas of real estate, environmental, energy and finance matters, worked pro bono for a full year to assist the State Bar in acquiring two Downtown parcels for a new Southern Arizona regional office.
He holds an undergraduate degree in philosophy and a joint MBA/law degree from the University of Arizona.
New wellness director at Splendido
Splendido, a retirement community in Oro Valley, has named Sarah Kennedy director of wellness.
Kennedy joined Splendido in 2006 as fitness coordinator and has more than 30 years of fitness and personal-training experience.
In her new position, Kennedy will provide wellness consultation, education programs and classes for residents, as well as oversee the community's Saluté Spa & Fitness Center and a wellness-resource center still under development.
Torres named project manager at Giles
Rudy Torres has joined Giles Construction as project manager.
He will oversee numerous commercial construction projects including Tucson Federal Credit Union's corporate office, Petco at Oro Valley Marketplace and the expanded fitness center addition at Ventana Canyon Golf & Racquet Club.
Torres previously was vice president of purchasing at Richmond American Homes.
Quarles & Brady has new attorney
Quarles & Brady LLP in Tucson has hired Elizabeth Fella as an attorney in the firm's national commercial litigation practice.
Fella recently completed a two-year clerkship in the chambers of Judge Sarah Sharer Curley in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Phoenix.
She earned her law degree, cum laude, from Arizona State University College of Law and a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona.
Exec joins NW hospital Oro Valley
Kirkpatrick "Kapua" Conley has been named assistant chief executive officer of Northwest Medical Center Oro Valley.
Conley was most recently with the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where he ran the operations and physician services of the Genitourinary Center.
Previously, Conley was with Ochsner Health System in southeast Louisiana, and a digital consulting and software services company.
Conley earned his master's degree in health administration from the Tulane University School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine.
