Question: What is the world's deadliest jellyfish, and where is it most commonly found?
Answer: Jellyfish are relatives of the sea anemone and coral, and most are relatively harmless. Some, though, like the Portuguese man-of-war or the giant box jellyfish, can be deadly on contact. The sea wasp, known as the box jelly because of its cube-shaped bell, is found in the waters of the Great Barrier Reef off Australia and the Philippines. It is dangerously venomous; a moderate sting can cause death in a few minutes.
