Things went smoothly in the first day of First National Bank of Arizona's new life as Mutual of Omaha Bank.
There were no lines trailing out the doors and traffic was not very heavy, except for a short period after the branches opened Monday, said David Barr, a spokesman for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
Some customers simply came in to ensure that their accounts were safe after the FDIC intervened to close First National Bank of Arizona Friday, said Mutual of Omaha Bank spokeswoman Kathy Olson.
First National Bank of Arizona, which had two branches in Tucson, was acquired by Mutual of Omaha Bank from the FDIC after the agency placed First National in receivership.
