Blues music
Two titans of blues will perform in Tucson in the next month, starting with B.B. King at Desert Diamond Casino Sunday night.
King is an unstoppable force in the blues industry, even at 82 years old. Despite bad knees and diabetes, he continues to tour the country and has an album of new material, produced by "O Brother, Where Art Thou's" T Bone Burnett, in the works.
King hits the Diamond stage, 1100 W. Pima Mine Road, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35-$65 through Ticketmaster, 321-1000.
The longtime blues icon will pave the way for Chicago guitarist Buddy Guy, who comes through Casino del Sol's AVA with George Thorogood on Aug. 6.

Chamber music
Music can often be a communal act among musicians.
Case in point: On Saturday, a group of University of Arizona students are giving up their afternoon to help a fellow student achieve a dream.
The musicians — among them violinists Laura Tagawa and Toru Tagawa, violist Orquidea Guandique, pianist Fernando Zuniga and Melissa Jackson on french horn — will perform a chamber concert of works by Brahms, de Falla, Bach and others. They hope to raise money to send Guandique to the Beijing International Music Festival in Shanghai, China, next August.
Guandique, a native of El Salvador, comes to the UA from the Universidad de Costa Rica, where she graduated with honors in 2007 with a degree in viola performance. She is pursuing her master's degree under the guidance of Hong-Mei Xiao.
Saturday's concert begins at 2 p.m. at Southern Baptist Church, 445 E. Speedway. Admission is free but donations will be accepted. Details: 258-8883.
