Facemire promoted to online director
Mike Facemire has been promoted to online director for Tucson Newspapers Inc., a joint operating entity of the Arizona Daily Star and the Tucson Citizen.
Facemire, who previously held the position of senior information technology manager in TNI's information technology department, started in IT at TNI in 1999. In his new role, Facemire will direct daily online operations for the newspaper and TNI Web sites, including programming, Web design and development, ad placement, planning and budgeting.
Facemire is also communications chief for the 1st/285th Attack Helicopter Battalion of the Arizona Army National Guard. In February, he returned from a 20-month deployment in southern Afghanistan and received the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the NATO Service Medal and three Army Commendation Medals.
Match Point Tennis to have new owner
Walt Ridley, a longtime resident and active tennis player in local and national events, will assume ownership of Match Point Tennis, which on June 17 will be relocated to 2742 N. Campbell Ave., just south of the current location at 2964 N. Campbell Ave.
Match Point offers tennis rackets, stringing, shoes, apparel and accessories. The shop's phone number is 881-1515. Bill Wallin, Match Point's present owner, will be on site during much of the summer transition period, Ridley said.
N. Pima chamber has new leader
The Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce has hired Ramon Gaanderse as its president and CEO.
Gaanderse spent the past three years as executive director of the Metropolitan Pima Alliance, a membership organization of Pima County business, government and non-profit organizations that has existed since 1997.
He replaces Jerry Bustamante, who stepped down May 15 after seven years to become president and CEO of the Chandler Chamber of Commerce.
Gaanderse's first day will be June 23.
AristoCare's Brean gets marketing post
AristoCare Home Health Services announced the promotion of Steve Brean, LPN, to area marketing manager.
He will manage the marketing efforts for AristoCare in all of Southeastern Arizona. Brean has been the branch manager for the company's Green Valley and Nogales offices for the last two years.
Long Realty's Barry to lead foundation
Long Realty sales associate Susan Barry has been named the new president of the Long Realty Cares Foundation. Barry succeeds three-year President Pat Jessup.
A nine-year Long veteran and a resident of Tucson since 1968, Barry works out of Long's Oro Valley branch office. She has served on the board of the Southern Arizona Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation for eight years.
