MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Amare Stoudemire had 28 points and 11 rebounds, and the Phoenix Suns beat the Memphis Grizzlies 127-113 Tuesday night, despite playing without an injured Shaquille O'Neal.
Stoudemire was 10 of 13 from the field as the Suns won their eighth straight over the Grizzlies and moved to within a half-game of the idle Houston Rockets for the fifth spot in the Western Conference playoffs.
Raja Bell scored 18 points for Phoenix, while Grant Hill had 17. Steve Nash and Leandro Barbosa finished with 16 points apiece, with Nash handing out eight assists.
The Suns were without O'Neal, who sat out with a right hip contusion.
Rudy Gay matched his career high with 36 points for Memphis. Mike Conley finished with 19 points and five assists before fouling out in the closing minute, and Kyle Lowry had 13 points off the Memphis bench.
● Trail Blazers 112, Lakers 103: In Portland, Ore., Brandon Roy scored 23 points and matched his career high with 12 assists as the Trail Blazers held off the Lakers.
LaMarcus Aldridge had 22 points and 11 rebounds for Portland, which snapped a five-game losing streak. Former Arizona Wildcat Channing Frye had a season-high 22 points and 11 rebounds.
Kobe Bryant finished with 34 points for the Lakers.
● Nuggets 117, Clippers 99: In Los Angeles, Carmelo Anthony scored 36 points, Allen Iverson added 21 points, seven rebounds and nine assists, and the Nuggets routed the Clippers to keep pace in the Western Conference playoff race.
Linus Kleiza added 15 points, Marcus Camby had 13 points and 18 rebounds, and J.R. Smith scored 10 points for the Nuggets (47-31), who snapped a two-game losing streak to teams already out of postseason contention, and picked up momentum for Thursday night's game at Golden State.
● Warriors 140, Kings 132: In Oakland, Calif, Baron Davis had 33 points and nine assists, Stephen Jackson added 20 points, and the Warriors stayed in the frantic Western Conference playoff race with their highest-scoring game of the season.
Andris Biedrins had 17 points and 17 rebounds for the Warriors (47-31), who are tied with the Nuggets for the eighth postseason spot in the power-packed West.
● Jazz 77, Hornets 66: In New Orleans, Mehmet Okur had 22 points and 17 rebounds to help the Jazz clinch the Northwest Division and snap the Hornets' 11-game home winning streak.
Deron Williams had 16 assists as the Jazz took a 20-point lead early in the fourth quarter, and held New Orleans to its lowest point total of the season.
● Pacers 112, Hawks 98: In Indianapolis, Mike Dunleavy scored 28 points, and Indiana beat Atlanta to avoid elimination from the Eastern Conference playoff race.
A win by the Hawks would have knocked the Pacers from playoff contention, and Atlanta would have needed just one win or a New Jersey loss the rest of the way to clinch a berth.
● Celtics 107, Bucks 104, OT: In Milwaukee, the Big Three were back to build a big lead, but the reserves coughed it up and forced Boston to use overtime to beat Milwaukee for its seventh straight victory.
After sitting out the Celtics' victory at Charlotte on Saturday, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce lobbied coach Doc Rivers to play Tuesday night. Garnett scored 21, Allen had 11 and Pierce, who returned to the team after the birth of his daughter, had 14.
● Mavericks 99, SuperSonics 83: In Dallas, former Arizona Wildcat Jason Terry scored 22, Josh Howard added 17, and Dallas crept closer to a playoff berth.
Brandon Bass scored 13 off the bench for the Mavericks, and Dirk Nowitzki chipped in with 11 points and 12 rebounds in his fourth game since returning from knee and ankle injuries.
● Knicks 98, Pistons 94: In Auburn Hills, Mich., Wilson Chandler scored all of his 19 points in the first half as New York built a huge lead.
Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince each scored 11 for the Pistons, who had won five straight.
● Bobcats 121, Timberwolves 119: In Charlotte, N.C., Jason Richardson scored 36 points, and Charlotte avoided a collapse against one of the league's worst teams.
The Bobcats coughed up an 18-point first-half lead and gave the lowly Timberwolves a chance to tie the game. But Al Jefferson, who matched a career high with 40 points, missed an open 19-foot jumper at the buzzer.
● Heat 95, Bulls 88: In Miami, Kasib Powell scored a career-high 18 points in his first game back from the NBA Development League, and Miami beat Chicago to snap a seven-game losing streak.
Luol Deng scored 19 of his 25 points in the first half for the Bulls.
