KOLD telethon aids Humane Society
KOLD News 13 organized an "Animal Defenders" telethon on March 13 and raised more than $50,000 for the Humane Society of Southern Arizona to help with overcrowding due to animals seized from a property in Avra Valley.
Heather Rowe anchored the live coverage from the Humane Society.
"While donated dog food, supplies and kennels are making a big difference, the financial burden of caring for 752 dogs is dramatic," explained Michelle Germano, KOLD news director, in a press release.
To make a donation, go to www.hssaz.org or call the shelter at 327-6088. Checks can also be mailed to the shelter at 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85716.

The six-week session will meet 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays, April 5 through May 10, at Our Family's main office, 3830 E. Bellevue St.
