Top 'Mathletes,' teams noted

Saturday's Southern Arizona MathCounts competition was a smashing success, with "Mathletes" from 23 Tucson-area middle schools participating.
The 150 or so middle schoolers competed in the four-round, timed, team and individual math event. The top team in Saturday's competition, Sonoran Science Academy, and the top students not on that team, who attend Alice Vail Middle School, will now go on to the March 1 statewide MathCounts contest at Cienega High School.
Here are lists of Southern Arizona's top Mathletes and top teams. Spellings of names and the rankings were provided by the Southern Arizona MathCounts coordinator.
