Oro Valley Economic Development Administrator David Welsh is resigning to take a position as senior vice president of regionalism at Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities Inc.
His last day working for Oro Valley will be Oct. 26, he said. He has worked for the town for a year and a half.
Welsh, 46, is one of several department heads who have left Oro Valley over the past year.
● Community Development Director Brent Sinclair resigned in December.
● Town spokesman Bob Kovitz resigned in April.
● Town Attorney Melinda Garrahan announced in July that she would take an early retirement. Her last day is tomorrow. Oro Valley's Town Council named Tobin Sidles interim town attorney while it searches for someone to permanently replace Garrahan.
Sidles, formerly a town prosecutor, will receive a 10 percent raise while he is in his temporary position, the council decided.
Oro Valley has so far received 11 applications for the town attorney position, said Sandra Abbey, Oro Valley's human resources director.
