The executive director of Southern Arizona Legal Aid in Tucson will be honored next week by the State Bar of Arizona.

Anthony L. Young will receive the Sharon A. Fullmer Legal Aid Attorney of the Year Award at the 74th annual State Bar Convention Wednesday through next Saturday at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale.

The award recognizes the Arizona legal-services lawyer who shows aggressive advocacy on behalf of low-income clients in extreme need.

Before Young joined Southern Arizona Legal Aid, he was the managing attorney of Community Legal Services for Yuma and La Paz counties.

Young graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1990 and worked for Western Nebraska Legal Services before moving to Arizona.
