The current administration has led by intimidation. It has created a sense of fear in many areas of our lives. We do not belong in Iraq. I am so sorry for the loss of so many American and Iraqi lives.

To those who think the Oro Valley Marketplace with the Wal-Mart is a wonderful thing, I say this: Have you forgotten that taxpayer money is subsidizing this project? Does the nation's largest retailer need an incentive? Have you forgotten that when the taxpayer-subsidized center was brought up, we were promised a "unique shopping experience"? Haven't you noticed that there are two Wal-Marts within 10 minutes of Oro Valley?
Since our elected officials made those promises to us, we can either conclude that they are incompetent when it comes to negotiating contracts with retail developers or they were lying to us. I see no other possibilities.
The thought of these officials negotiating contracts for a proposed $150-million town center sends chills down my spine, chills that I will remember on the next Election Day.

Re: the June 13 article "Glimmer of hope left."
If the fans are interested in keeping baseball in Tucson, maybe Jay Zucker could offer Tucson one last chance before sale. In the article, he said he was looking for a 30 percent share owner for the team. What about offering Tucson an opportunity to own a part of the team, as the Green Bay Packers are doing? This little incentive may offer Tucsonans one last chance to keep the team in Tucson.
I know it may seem like a long shot, but it may just get the backing that Zucker was looking for. Between rotations overseas, it has been hard for me to go to games, but its still something I enjoy with the family when I can. I don't know about other Tucsonans, but I would be willing to do this, just so when I go home on vacation, I could enjoy something that is affordable and enjoyable at the same time.
