Tucson, Arizona | Published: 06.05.2007
Arizona assistant basketball coach Josh Pastner has turned down a similar post at Kentucky under new coach Billy Gillispie.
Pastner, 29, has been a player, administrator or coach at the UA since 1996.
He flew to Lexington, Ky., on Friday to discuss the job and said he has since decided to stay.
"I love the U of A, and my loyalty is to coach (Lute) Olson, to U of A and Tucson," Pastner said. "And I believe we have a chance to win another national championship and I don't want to miss out on that."

Tank to sit 8 games
Chicago Bears defensive tackle Tank Johnson was suspended Monday for the first eight games of the 2007 NFL season, the third player sidelined this off-season under the league's toughened personal-conduct policy.
Johnson, who recently spent two months in the Cook County jail for violating probation on a gun charge, joined Tennessee's Adam "Pacman" Jones, suspended for the entire season, and Cincinnati's Chris Henry, out eight games.
Johnson, who will be allowed to attend training camp and play in the preseason, seemed to accept his punishment.
"I think it's an opportunity for me to move forward," he said in Lake Forest, Ill., where the Bears are conducting off-season workouts. "It's not my call to say whether it's fair or unfair. … If it's in the best interest of the NFL, then I'm all for it, too."
Commissioner Roger Goodell said the suspension could be reduced to six games if Johnson has no further involvement with law enforcement and undergoes counseling.
