The hot spot: Toque de Pasión, 3000 E. Broadway, Suite 13, 881-0411.
Fashion philosophy: The store, which opened in October, is all about bringing a touch of South American clothing and accessories to Tucson.
Owner: Cesar Zegarra, 33, a native of Peru, grew up in a family that worked in the Peruvian textile and fashion industry. He co-owns the store with his girlfriend, Melissa McCormick, 42.
Who shops here: "Nice people," says Zegarra. "People who appreciate designers' ideas — we aren't supporting sweatshops. It is all handmade and exclusive."
What to expect: The store is filled with clothes, scarfs made from alpaca wool, leather shoes and bags, canvas handbags and little llama toys and finger-puppets.
Dress up your floor: Abrown and white rug, $180, is made from vicuña wool and is soft to the touch.
Save your pocket change for this: If you love the smell of peaches, the fruity soaps are right up your alley. They are $6.99 to $7.99 and will make you smell ever so sweet.
Impress with class: The creme jacket ($115) and pants ($75) are paired nicely with the black tank ($25), all made by Paninaro. Dress it up with the shell necklace by Bakana for $160.
