Paris Hilton is being criticized by the Center for Biological Diversity (www.biologicaldiversity. org) and the www.tellparisno.com Web site. Both sites have online petitions urging animal lovers to demand that she turn over her exotic animals to a wildlife sanctuary. Students at Sahuarita High School were asked last week what they thought about Hilton's collecting exotic animals and keeping them as pets.
"In my opinion, Paris Hilton should not be allowed to 'collect' these exotic animals and keep them as pets. I highly doubt that Ms. Hilton knows enough about these animals to take care of them in the first place. If, by some chance, she is highly educated, how is she even going to be able to keep them in the right environment? It is probably a better idea to keep these animals in a zoo and just allow Paris Hilton to visit them whenever she wants."

"Exotic animals are just what they say — exotic. They are not meant to be pets, and only licensed animal caretakers should be allowed to care for them and/or own them."

"I think that it is completely fine. If she wants a pet cheetah or gorilla, that's her choice. I find no reason why they should be taken away."
