What's new at the library

● Former librarian and current eBay enthusiast Michelle B. Graye will present "Let's Make a Deal," a beginner's guide to browsing, buying and selling on eBay, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Kirk-Bear Canyon Library, 8959 E. Tanque Verde Road.

The program is free, and refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Kirk-Bear Canyon Library.

Foothills-area libraries offer several programs for children and adults.

At the Dusenberry-River Center Library, 5605 E. River Road, the programs include:

● Poetry at the River, 6:30 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month. People are invited to bring their poems to read aloud, or to come and listen to others.

● The library offers three story times. Baby time, for kids up to 18 months, is at 10:15 a.m. Thursdays. Toddler story time, for those 18 months to 3 years old, is at 10:30 a.m. Fridays. Preschoolers, ages 3 through 5, have story time at 11:15 a.m. Thursdays.

● Free homework help is offered from 4 to 6 p.m. Mondays for students in first through 12th grade.

The Dusenberry-River Center branch is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. It's closed on Sundays.

The Kirk-Bear Canyon Library has several ongoing programs. Among them:

● Story times are offered two days a week. Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. are for children 18 months to 3 years old. Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 11:15 a.m. are story times for preschoolers, ages 3 through 5. For those under 18 months, story time is at 3 p.m. every Wednesday.

● Free homework help for students in first through 12th grades is available from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays.

● A Friends of the Library book discussion group for adults meets from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on the last Thursday of each month, except in November and December.
