MARANA
1 Criminal damage was reported at a construction site in the 7800 block of North Leilani Lane at 6:13 a.m. June 22. The site superintendent told police someone damaged a Mobile Mini storage container. Pry marks were found on the doors, and someone made a two-foot cut down the side of the container. The superintendent told police the thieves were unable to get inside, and nothing was stolen.
2 The driver of a 2005 GMC truck abandoned it after a traffic stop for reckless driving at 9:28 p.m. June 22 on West Magee and North Shannon roads. According to the report, the man got out of the truck when he stopped. The officer told him to get back inside the truck, but the driver ran away.
3 A 2005 Dodge Neon valued at $16,000 was reported stolen at 3:32 p.m. June 22 at Burger King, 8328 N. Cortaro Road. The owner said he left the keys in the car.
4 A water softener valued at $685 was reported stolen from a house under construction in the 7800 block of West Sage Creek Court at 3:04 p.m. June 21. A superintendent with Meritage Homes told police that someone cut the connecting copper water pipes and took it from the garage.
5 A resident was cited on suspicion of disorderly conduct at 2:58 p.m. June 20 and released at Orange Grove Village apartments, 3500 W. Orange Grove Road. The apartment manager said the woman came into the office to complain about management because her car had been stolen. Several other employees heard the woman swearing and yelling. One employee saw the woman put her finger near the manager's face. Police talked to the resident and she said she was angry because her car had been stolen, and she received notice that she owed the complex an additional $150. She told police she "just snapped." She was advised by the officer not to engage in further offensive behavior.
PIMA COUNTY
6 Four Honda all-terrain vehicles and a trailer valued at more than $16,000 were reported stolen at 9:08 a.m. June 20 in the 7300 block of North Camino de la Tierra. The owner said she went to bed at 3:30 a.m. and didn't hear anything unusual. She told deputies the vehicles and trailer were gone when she got up at 8:30 a.m.
7 Personal property valued at more than $2,500 was reported stolen at 9:50 p.m. June 20 in the 1300 block of West Yaqui Drive. A resident told deputies she found the back door open. A laptop computer, $500 and miscellaneous clothing were taken.
8 Credit card fraud was reported at 9:37 a.m. June 20 in the 7500 block of North Juniper Road. A resident told deputies she opened her American Express statement and found a fraudulent purchase for $58.98 that was charged online. According to the report, the account was closed.
9 Property was reported stolen at 7:07 a.m. June 19 from four buildings on a lot in the 4100 block of North Flowing Wells Road. A woman told deputies she was getting the house, two mobile homes and the garage ready to rent. She said someone took outlet covers, copper pipes and copper wiring out of the walls of each building.
10 A resident in the 10000 block of North Camino de Oeste called the Sheriff's Department at 3:40 p.m. June 19 to report an assault. He said a passenger in a silver Dodge Stratus shot several paintballs at him when he was loading his trash can into his vehicle outside his fence. He told deputies two paintballs hit his vehicle and one grazed his calf. He said he followed the car until the passenger threw the paintball gun out the window. Deputies retrieved the gun from a prickly pear cactus and took it as evidence.
ORO VALLEY
11 Credit card fraud was reported at 11:57 a.m. June 26 in the 700 block of West Silver Eagle Court. A resident told police he was expecting a credit card in the mail and never received it. He said the bank notified him the card was used to buy gasoline at various locations in Tucson.
12 A stolen 2000 Plymouth Breeze was recovered at 7:46 a.m. June 22 near West Sky Light Street and North Wide Sky Drive after someone reported a suspicious vehicle. Police found the car with the engine running, a damaged driver's side door and a missing ignition. The car was reported stolen in Tucson. Police notified the owner and he picked it up.
13 An employee at Burger King, 10615 N. Oracle Road, called police at 12:26 p.m. June 22 to report an unwanted person. A customer was parked in the drive-through, and the police officer told her to pull forward. She said she was upset because the restaurant did not have the toys it advertised and did not put up a sign stating the toys were not available. She said she argued with the manager and was told to leave. The officer told her the restaurant has the right to refuse service to anyone and she would not be permitted to come back. She was not cited and left.
14 A 34-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a dangerous drug at 10:55 p.m. June 21 after a traffic stop in the 1700 block of West Tangerine Road. The woman was a passenger and gave police a fake name. When she got her driver's license out of her wallet, the officer noticed a plastic bag containing crack cocaine. She was also arrested on suspicion of giving false information to law enforcement and booked into the Pima County jail.
15 A man who lives in the 2500 block of East Chisel Court was reported acting suspiciously by a neighbor at 9:09 a.m. June 20. A woman told police he was seen begging for money, urinating in public and entering people's back yards. Police were unable to contact the man.
