Fathers of the Year Awards Dinner & Gala — Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, 7000 N. Resort Drive. The event honors six Tucson men who have been extremely successful in their chosen field and who serve as outstanding role models in our community. All proceeds go to fund Type 1 diabetes research at the University of Arizona's Steele Children's Research Center. 6 p.m. June 3. Admission is $150 per person ($100 tax-deductible). 626-7051.
PCC Foundation's 15th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament — The Golf Club at Vistoso, 955 West Vistoso Highlands Drive. The Pima Community College Foundation provides scholarships to students attending the school. Golf attire is required; no denim; soft spikes only. Registration 6:30 a.m.; shotgun start 7:30 a.m.; four-person scramble available; mulligans are two for $10 (maximum eight per team). Entry fee of $80 for singles ($280 for teams) includes greens fees, plus cart, goody bag and the awards luncheon. June 3. 206-2740.

Community Baby Shower — University of Arizona Student Union Ballroom, 1303 E. University Blvd. Sponsored by Our Family Services and the Southern Arizona Community Diaper Bank, this shower for formerly homeless young mothers making new lives for themselves and their children will raise awareness of poverty, crisis and homelessness. There will be a fashion show by La Encantada and a quick auction. Bobby Rich will emcee the event. It will also benefit Our Family Services and the Diaper Bank. 2-4:30 p.m. June 11. 12th Annual Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Arizona Golf Classic — La Paloma Country Club, 3660 E. Sunrise Drive. Features breakfast, lunch and raffle. Benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities. Presented by BHP Copper Inc. 7 a.m. shotgun start. June 16. $250; $1,000 foursome ($150 tax deductible). 326-0060.
June 24
2006 Salvation Army Tucson Golf Classic — Arizona National Golf Club, 9777 E. Sabino Greens Drive. This is a two-man competitive format. There will be thousands of dollars in prizes and auction items. The event also includes a buffet with local celebrities. 7:30 a.m. June 24. $110 per person ($40 tax-deductible). 795-9671.
