Re: the March 13 article "Income gap widens."
Perhaps Rosemary León, quoted in the article, should temporarily give up her idea to get ahead. It seems to me that her most important job right now is the raising of her three children.
Unfortunately, in this world which produces so many single parent households, she is already doing the work of two parents. Hopefully, her ex-husband is doing his part by supporting their children, but why the need for her to do two part-time jobs as well as attend Pima Community College? Can't her student days come after her children are on their own?

America needs to be in charge of its own ports, and so it is up to our Congress to make sure that the United Arab Emirates fully divests control of them. If we are worried about security, then let us take control of our security and not sell it to others.

Arizona's Sen. John McCain is not the man he claims to be. Many in Arizona know this is true, and it is now time for the rest of the nation to find out he is not a "straight-talker."
He is not a moderate Republican, either. He is a conservative more like George W. Bush than Barry Goldwater. He is for tax cuts for the upper income level. He still supports the pre-emptive war in Iraq and urges more troops be sent. He is supported by the neo-cons of the Republican party. He supports the new South Dakota anti-abortion law.
At the Southern Republican Leadership Conference he was the only potential Republican presidential candidate to give a speech both supporting and praising President Bush.
The nation is suffering after six years of Bush and still has two more long dangerous years to go. Vote for McCain for more of the same.
