Subdivision Phase I is completely sold
Phase I of Sierra Morado subdivision, just north of Bilby Road near Houghton, has sold out.
The original Phase I project called for 190 homes but has expanded to 227 homes with the approval for putting 37 homes at Bilby and Houghton roads.
The area was originally zoned for light commercial and retail space, but was changed to residential when Tucson Medical Center agreed to build a hospital on the southeast corner of Drexel and Houghton roads and the commercial and retail area was moved to the same corner.
Phase II of Sierra Morado, 579 homes, is scheduled to be built to the north of Phase I and construction is to start in May or June.
The Phase II public notice is found on the Mesquite Ranch Neighborhood Association's Web site www.mesquiteranch.org. Click on "Community Activities."
