Coffee and high fashion do not always go together. Which is why I'm so pleased that a Seattle company has come up with a way to perk things up — pun intended. It's called CupCouture.
"We are creating high-end fashion accessories for the coffee cup," says Ann Pottier, co-founder of CupCouture. "We see ourselves as the first company to bring glamour to millions of coffee drinkers."
Cardboard cup sleeves are so last season, darling. CupCouture's winter line includes faux furs and vintage fabrics inspired by fashion icons such as Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot. The spring line, which launches this month, will have something for men (think James Bond-esque) and kids (for hot chocolate, natch).
Since we dress up our cell phones and our little dogs, too, why not, right? CupCouture "cup coats" are reusable and available online ($12-$16, www.cupcouture.com).
