It's long. It's sexy. And it's got graffiti all over it.
It's the Hollywood Graffiti Gown, and it's one of the highlights of the fourth annual Moda Provocateur fashion show, a fundraiser for the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation.
The fashion show, slated for 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the University of Arizona's Student Union Grand Ballroom, will feature plenty more high fashion from Tucson boutiques Pour Moi, Via Montenapoleone, Parachute, Loop (formerly Sunset Canyon), The Hang Up, L.A. Image, My Closet and Kanella's Now and Then Clothing.
KOLD weather guru Chuck George emcees the event, which will feature the latest in hair and makeup styles, too, courtesy of salons such as Yen Salon Spa and Toni & Guy Hairdressing.
The Hollywood Graffiti Gown has been gathering signatures for 25 years, all in the name of raising awareness of the fight against AIDS. It's a fashioned-with-love project by Hollywood designers Jerry Skeels and Randy McLaughlin, both of whom will be at the event.
The gown features more than 450 signatures, which have been hand-beaded in platinum, bugled, and Rochelle beads and Swarovski crystal stones. The black velvet gown includes signatures from such celebs as Katharine Hepburn, Barbra Streisand, Bette Davis, Whoopi Goldberg and Mother Teresa.
Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door. If you want the fancy reserved seating, it's $75. And the VIP seating — which includes a seat at a reserved table, appetizers and a swag bag — is $90. For reservations and more information, call 628-7223.
